ebuild, works for me

mplayer2-2.0 is in portage since 28 Mar 2011, upstream did a lot work, please add new snapshot to tree. Now media-video/mplayer2-2.0_p20110904 is in multimedia overlay, you can use this ebuild as example.

If you rename USE 'libass' to 'ass' you should use 'use ass || myconf+=" --disable-libass"' in ebuild, now USE="-ass" is broken. Also please remove .gitignore from tar and add snapshot_version file with 'v2.0-401-g421c840' inside. Or just use my tar.xz from googlecode.
P.S. May be you sync live ebuild with snapshot? Copypasting should work fine.
