Description Jim Ramsay (lack) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-09-25 00:39:26 UTC
This vim release has newer Vim runtime files and a number of bug fixes.

No major bugs open and has been in ~arch for >30 days.

Arch teams, if you please?

(m68k s390 and sh, feel free to skip gvim as usual)
Comment 1 Jeff (JD) Horelick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-09-25 02:32:22 UTC
Archtested on x86: everything very fine. Been running this version on most of my Gentoo systems for ~2 months now with no problems. Tested today with standard Gentoo vimrc and my own vim profile with a bunch of scripts and a customised vimrc and such and with no vimrc at all in use.

There were some repoman warnings, however (the first warning applies to vim|gvim, the second applies to all 3 packages, and all versions, but most versions because you get the idea), but they're not regressions:

amd64: pass
Comment 3 Agostino Sarubbo gentoo-dev 2011-09-25 09:35:42 UTC
@lack

the build system appends -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=1 that overwrites my -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2.

Is expected?
Comment 4 Tomáš "tpruzina" Pružina (amd64 [ex]AT) 2011-09-26 11:29:23 UTC
amd64 : ok

Yes, reading src/configure.in shows:

  dnl -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 crashes Vim on strcpy(buf, "000") when buf is
  dnl declared as char x[1] but actually longer. Introduced in gcc 4.0.
  dnl Also remove duplicate _FORTIFY_SOURCE arguments.
