Description Alon Bar-Lev 2011-09-14 14:26:36 UTC
Sure some environmental issue as I am certain that you use it with highlighting.

viewvc highlight with pygments should work out of the box, in strace I see viewvc actually accesses the pygments.

But no highlighting.

There are no relevant USE flags for pygments, and there is no log of viewvc, so I am stuck...

Appreciate any help.

Forgot to mention that in order to reduce noise I run the viewvc as standalone server, and even installed at own prefix directly from tarball... So I suspect that something is wrong with the integration of these two components.

A working setup would be a great start.
Comment 2 Alon Bar-Lev 2011-09-14 16:32:47 UTC
Solved!

viewvc has its own mime mappings and use mime in order to pass to pygments.

The ebuild installs an *EMPTY* mime mapping so no highlight is available.

Instead of installing an empty file, please consider use system mime:

1. Make viewvc depend on app-misc/mime-types if pygments USE.

2. Do not install mimetypes.conf

3. Modify config file during installation and set:
mime_types_files = /etc/mime.types

Thanks!
