Created attachment 285663 [details, diff] Patch to the ebuild As Firefox no longer reuses xulrunner sources, it is really bad for NPAPI plugins to require building the whole xulrunner. This is why we've created a tiny npapi-sdk packages providing the necessary headers and a pkg-config file for them. Although right now we have only live version of npapi-sdk, we'll do a release in a few days and packages can already start preparing to be able to use it. This will help users a lot. I've prepared a simple patch to support building against npapi-sdk and opened a request upstream. The ebuild is available for testing in ::mgorny overlay as well.
I think the patch in your attachment here is incomplete (removes old check but doesn't add new one), on the upstream bug it seems more complete.
