Please bump
Sorry Johan, we do not usually use development version.
(In reply to comment #1) > Sorry Johan, we do not usually use development version. Hello, not sure I follow. 0.8, 0.9 and 1.0 was added to the tree as "unstable/development" versions. Whats different with this one? see for instance: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342979 https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352596 https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368733
yes, but those versions was released as stable branch.
(In reply to comment #3) > yes, but those versions was released as stable branch. No, thats not true. Those were bumped during their unstable phase. This has happened more than three times as well (been an active contributor to the nginx ebuilds and bumps for ~2 years now). We let gentoo-sources be synced to upstream, so does apache and a multitude of other packages. Why should we not do so with nginx? I've used these "development" versions for all my production sites (top 400 alexa) and can voice for their stability. I'm not saying I don't respect your decisions as maintainer - I would just like to hear your reasoning behind them. Kind regards, Johan
