Description Navid Zamani 2011-08-13 23:40:24 UTC
Hello. I recently found the very convenient option EXTRA_ECONF that one can use in make.conf. And the most interesting thing to use it for, is to quiet down all those “Checking…” messages with “EXTRA_ECONF="-q"”.

I just did an emerge -e system, and up until half of the ~250 packages, this worked flawlessly. So one can assume that this works with practically all packages.

But the configure script of ed apparently doesn’t recognize the option.
Therefore I would be grateful if you could make that work.

It’s just a small thing, yes.
But it’s also not much work. :)

Reproducible: Always

It's not an autotools based configure script.
Comment 2 Navid Zamani 2011-08-15 03:00:24 UTC
Ah. So using -q in EXTRA_ECONF is generally a bad idea?
Too bad it can’t be made that it only works on autotools-based scripts though.

Anyway. I guess this is solved then…

EXTRA_ECONF is strictly only allowed for autotools based configure scripts, so if it isn't one, this is a bug

There is no diff there. Even when I click on “Show”. I don’t understand what this is supposed to tell me… That nothing was changed from 1.2 to 1.3? ^^
