No arches yet, because of bug 376719
Created attachment 281893 [details] List of packages to be stabilized OK guys, it's that time of the month again. Please stabilize KDE 4.6.5; list is attached. A special remark: kdelibs-4.6.5-r1 contains an untested backport which should fix bug 376719. So, please: * run this for a few days and check if any oddities occur * try to rebuild stable kdepim-4.4 after the upgrade, especially kde-base/kdepim-runtime-4.4.11.1 Thanks a lot in advance. Target: amd64 ppc x86
No problem with merging. I have recompiled also pim packages like: emerge -1 $( eix pim -I --only-names ) I'm attending few days of uptime to see if is ok.

(In reply to comment #3) > 1) Your command is incomplete, you should have recompiled the contents of > kdepim-meta (or use a set, we provide some in the overlay) Andreas sayd to recompile kdepim packages, so if you believe that is incomplete, post the complete list of packages that must be re-emerged.

This is the full list for kdepim-4.4, and yes please re-emerge these already stable packages after the upgrade of the rest of kde as part of the stabilization tests. (To check if compilation breaks.) ~kde-base/akonadi-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/akregator-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/blogilo-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kabcclient-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kaddressbook-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kalarm-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kdepim-icons-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kdepim-kresources-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kdepim-meta-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kdepim-strigi-analyzer-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kdepim-runtime-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kdepim-wizards-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kjots-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kleopatra-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kmail-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/knode-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/knotes-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/konsolekalendar-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/kontact-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/korganizer-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/ktimetracker-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/libkdepim-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/libkleo-4.4.11.1 ~kde-base/libkpgp-4.4.11.1

amd64: emerges fine, kde works fine so far...
The following keyword changes are necessary to proceed: #required by kde-base/kdebase-kioslaves-4.6.5[exif], required by kde-base/kdebase-runtime-meta-4.6.5, required by kde-base/kdebase-startkde-4.6.5, required by kde-base/kdebase-meta-4.6.5, required by kde-base/kde-meta-4.6.5, required by =kde-base/kde-meta-4.6.5 (argument) >=media-gfx/exiv2-0.21.1-r1 ~x86 Is that OK (stabilize media-gfx/exiv2)?

Yes, that is required by kde-meta not kdebase-meta. The problem is that compilation process will fail at kde-base/system-config-printer-kde as mentioned in bug 337583 but that package is not in the list of stabilization.
(In reply to comment #9) > (In reply to comment #8) > > >=media-gfx/exiv2-0.21.1-r1 ~x86 > > Is that OK (stabilize media-gfx/exiv2)? Yes, please do stabilize media-gfx/exiv2-0.21.1-r1 (I'll add it to the list - Stefan, OK with you?). > compilation process will fail at kde-base/system-config-printer-kde as > mentioned in bug 337583 but that package is not in the list of stabilization. It most certainly is in the list. I'll have a closer look at bug 337583 but I fear we can't do much about the python mess.
Created attachment 282397 [details] List of packages to be stabilized, v2
amd64: emerge kde-meta passes with the v2 list. The problem was kernel 3 and python as it seems.
amd64 done. Thanks Elijah and Agostino
amd64 : merges fine, havent thoroughly tested yet
x86 stable
Created attachment 287449 [details] List of packages to be stabilized, v3 Updated kwin revision to kwin-4.6.5-r2 (large performance improvements and fix for mesa crashes)
To whoever is still listening here, I'm trying to get the collective OK from the KDE team to fire up the stable request for kde 4.7.[12]. Probably it does not make much sense to put any more effort into stabilizing kde 4.6.5. I'll close this bug as soon as we've reached a decision.

Ppc will wait for 4.7, I'll put high priority on that
