Okay for me!
Comment 2 Agostino Sarubbo gentoo-dev 2011-08-01 22:18:10 UTC
There is a reason because -O3 is appended? works for me with -O2

Should this go for bug 376895?

I didn't understand you. What do you mean?

Well it was me who did not understand you. Please explain what do you mean by comment #2

Agostino said that the build system automatically appends -O3 to the CFLAGS. Bug #376895 is a similar bug but it is not related to this package.

So this is about libidctfast. Well I am not a fan of this patch and it was added by sbriesen so he probably knows better.

Not exactly because -O3 is in the ebuild, not appended by buildsystem:

emake CC=$(tc-getCC) IDCT="${IDCT}" LDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS}" \
		CPLAT="${CFLAGS} -O3 -ffast-math -fPIC" || die

Created attachment 282227 [details]
output of failed execution

fails on stable amd64 chrooted install (probably depends on sun javavm but it emerge icedtea6-bin instead).

However it works with dev-java/icedtea-6.1.10.3.

Arch tested on x86, all good here ...
Comment 14 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-08-14 22:46:35 UTC
Ok, first of all, Tomas, please open separate bugs to report failures and make the new bug block the stabilization one. Try to avoid flooding the bug with comments about compilation/runtime failures. Second, Agostino if the maintainer appends -O3 inside the ebuild there I presume there is a reason for that. So I will trust the maintainer for now and ignore the issue :/. amd64 stable
