slony1-2.0.6/config.log

When trying to upgrade to slony1-2.0.6 I am getting the compile error: PQisthreadsafe test failed - PostgreSQL needs to be compiled with --enable-thread-safety

I have tried enabling "enable-thread-safety" by adding it to the postgres-server ebuild USE list, I have tried USE="enable-thread-safety" postgres-server
I have tried FEATURES="-sandbox" emerge libpq -v but was not sure which dev-libs/libpqxx or dev-cpp/libpqpp? I still get the same error with postgresql-server-9.0.4-r1. I have attached the slony1-2.0.6/config.log. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, so dev-db/slony1-2.0.6 should {R}DEPEND on dev-db/postgresql-base[threads].

I don't see how that's Critical - the workaround is simple, and no work or stability are threatened by the inability to compile slony1 without it.

I ran into the same problem. After reading comment 1, I was able to
install slony1 with:

USE="threads" emerge dev-db/postgresql-base
emerge dev-db/slony1

Who can add this dependency to the portage tree?

I started working on this. I've been cleaning it up a bit and I'll probably finish it by the weekend.
