Well, 3.2.8.1-r2's purpose was to fix compilation on prefix. I forgot to test the ebuild on real portage which doesn't set ED for EAPI=2, so the EAPI is now bumped to 3 in CVS and this should be fixed. Thanks very much for the quick report!
