Created attachment 275749 [details] List of packages to be stabilized, v1 As there are no obvious regressions turning up in Bugzilla, we would like to pass on the next bugfix release of KDE 4.6 to our stable users. KDE 4.6.3 is in the portage tree since 7 May. The list of packages is attached; for all stabilization is requested for "amd64 ppc x86" @Arches: You can skip a release if this causes too much workload, please indicate that here then. We'll get back to you in a month then with the next version (4.6.4).
please add to the list: kde-misc/kcm-gtk-config i think 1.5 is the better choise

Arches please wait a bit. I have a kdelibs revision bump ready for super-annoying bug 370039, but CVS is down for scheduled maintenance at the moment... List v3 is coming tonight.

on amd64: all packages compiles and seems not have issue(s). on x86: I use it since when it is bumped with a metapackage like kdebase-startkde and work better that 4.6.2 (imho)
I'm not an arch tester, but I can report success on a mostly-stable amd64 system. No compile failures, and I spot-checked a dozen or so apps.

I'm not an amd64 AT, but given this request [1] I'm just spreading the word that there weren't any compile problems and after working on it for a couple of hours doing all sorts of things no issues arrised. [1] http://hwoarang.silverarrow.org/2011/06/04/amd64-test-request-kde-4-6-3/
amd64: seems I'm a little late! all emerged, no issues.
on AMD64: running since Sun May 8 12:01:54 2011 and no problem arise during both compile and day by day operations.
No problems for me as well (except for bug #369515, but it's my fault for following libav development too closely).

Thank you all for the @AMD64 feedback. The stabilization will take place on Thursday, 9th June 2011 @ 23:00 UTC (unless outstanding bugs pop up)
x86 stable. The script stopped mysteriously I hope everything is done. Please e-mail me if not. (Is there a way to check?)
(In reply to comment #14) > x86 stable. The script stopped mysteriously I hope everything is done. Please > e-mail me if not. (Is there a way to check?) Thanks Thomas. I'd check that kde-meta is "stabled" and run repoman in there... that would make sure that all the deps have been stabled too... Does not give any errors, so I think everything went ok.
Sorry this has to be postponed because people touched the kde-base/* while I was running the script so I encountered some conflicts. I will try again some other time
lol next time step up in the channel, and type: !herd kde don't touch kde-base for the next two hours please
(In reply to comment #17) > lol > next time step up in the channel, and type: > !herd kde > don't touch kde-base for the next two hours please Are you serious? I don't have IRC access all the time. Plus, look at comment #13. I made it perfectly clear when I will stabilize it.
amd64 done. Thank you all
(In reply to comment #19) > amd64 done. Thank you all and thank /you/. I appreciate the work you do for this.
I'm having some problems with the printer configuration app in System Settings. I've added my main user to the lpadmin group, but the default action should be to ask for root password, shouldn't it?
ppc done; masked java to eliminate krossjava which doesnt build on ppc64
