I tested it on x86, but with use=gcrypt i canceled the testsuite at gsasl_nonce after a bit more than 24 hours. Can you be running low on entropy? gsasl_nonce just initializes a 10 byte buffer with STRONG_RANDOM data using libgcrypt. Try to repeat the test with a high-entropy-computer please. If it is still a problem, please attach your build log and emerge --info to bug #331707 and we will take it from there. Thanks.
