Had the same issue. Fixed it by emerging x11-libs/libva-0.32.0_p2

I think that ffmpeg-0.6_p28715 needs to have "vaapi? ( >=x11-libs/libva-0.32 )" in RDEPEND, because earlier versions of VAAPI did not have the profile field in VAPictureParameterBufferVC1.
