Tested on SPARC, passed its tests. Seems OK, could stabilise.

zlib-1.2.5 breaks app-text/dvipdfmx-20100328

PANIC: unprotected error in call to Lua API (zlib library version does not match - header: 1.2.3, library: 1.2.5)

Looks like dvipdfmx is properly using system headers, there are no zlib-1.2.3 headers in it's package.   Perhaps you just need to recompile all or any of texlive-core, luatex, and dvipdfmx?

I tested it on x86 and i haven't seen any problems with it. I also had luck with  a new install of dvipdfmx.

recompiling luatex helped.

Builds and runs fine on x86. Rdeps build fine. No problems encountered.
