Stabilize net-misc/wicd-1.7.1_beta2-r2.
Has a bunch of open bugs that I have to look at first. I hope to get to it soon.
... and please don't just add arches without asking the maintainers.
Please stabilize this, it is needed for Python 2.7 (2.6 is gone thanks to depclean!)
Please stabilize net-misc/wicd-1.7.1_beta2-r3. (r3 was added today with a small patch to the init script. -r2 was in the tree > 30 days.) There are some open bugs, however no known regressions. The current stable wicd is broken wrt the now stable python-2.7 so a rush stable would be appreciated greatly =)
amd64 ok
amd64 done, thanks Agostino
Maybe somebody was in a hurry. I'm not sure I should fill a new bug report but on amd64 this version didn't worked for me. 1)Try to connect to a low quality(far away or buggy firmware) AP in order to receive the error "Connection failed: Unable to get IP address" or something like that. You'll notice that even if you're not connected, most of the times the tray icon will show you full signal(green) and a tip "Connected to.." with an IP. At the same time double clicking the tray icon to show the list of APs will wrongfully show a "Disconnect" button on the AP's line. 2)Even worse than that, almost a day I've been trying to connect to an AP, I wasn't able to do it so I've downgraded wicd to 1.7.0. Now as you guess everything works. If you thing I should fill a new bug report or attach an emerge info to this report you're welcome to ask.

Please open a separate bug with emerge --info and the build log. I've been using this version on amd64 for some time and have not encountered either of those errors. Also, what dhcp client are you using? What version of wpa_supplicant?
works great for me on x86. -> stable
ppc/ppc64 stable, last arch closing
