bash-completion-1.3 includes two new completion modules, Makefile.in and Makefile.am, that cause problems when enabled. For example, with Makefile.am enabled, every bash login shell starts with the following errors:

bash: SUBDIRS: command not found
bash: bashcomp_DATA: command not found
bash: bashcomp_DATA: command not found
bash: EXTRA_DIST: command not found

Am I missing something obvious here? Should I open a new bug for this?
