270.30 (beta) for Linux x86/x86_64 released
 * Added support for xserver ABI 10 (xorg-server 1.10).
 * Dropped support for xserver ABI 9 (which was only used with xorg-server 1.10 RC2 due to a last-minute xserver change).

;)

nvidia-drivers-270.30.ebuild

I was waiting on an ebuild before, but I figured I'd just do it myself.
I just renamed the 270.18 ebuild to 270.30, and I changed the SRC_URI links to point to the FTP server since this driver doesn't appear to be on the Http site.
Comment 4 Casey Jones 2011-03-21 21:54:59 UTC
I should mention that this is working for me on ~amd64 with xorg-server-1.10 from the x11 overlay. Hopefully this ebuild can be merged into the overlay as well.
Comment 5 Kamil Kamiński 2011-04-01 07:29:51 UTC
Can we see it in portage? Since xorg-server with ABI1.10 is already in portage, we do not have compatible nvidia-drivers for testing.
Comment 6 Audiodef 2011-04-04 14:27:41 UTC
This works for me, too.

I noticed 270.18 masked in Portage. Would like to see 270.30 unmasked in Portage.
Comment 7 thunderrd 2011-04-04 16:28:32 UTC
There is an ebuild for 270.30 in the "stuff" overlay and it seems to work fine here.
Comment 8 Zeev Tarantov 2011-04-11 23:08:53 UTC
The official, non-beta, driver release is 270.41.03

The bump is in. please report any bug.

yay, NVidia gets better at crashing my system.

Comment 12 Dawid Stawiarski 2011-04-15 18:32:04 UTC
270.41.03 stops my GF 7300GS from even loading kde desktop - it stops on kde splash screen and nothing more happens (does not work with xorg-server 1.9.5 nor 1.10.0), however mouse and keyboard are usable all the time. nothing special in Xorg.log and kdm.log (downgrade to 260.44 solves the problem, and everything works as expected).
Comment 13 Nickolay Kolchin-Semyonov 2011-04-15 18:38:40 UTC
Works fine on 580. KDE4, GL, etc. No visible problems.

thanks for pointing that out, seems to be exactly the problem i'm facing.
Comment 16 Doug Goldstein (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-05-11 16:08:41 UTC
Unfortunately 270.41.03 drivers were prematurely added by someone to the tree. However, 270.41.06 are now in the tree and should be used.
