Description Kevin Bowling 2011-01-30 16:48:53 UTC
The current libatomic_ops work was merged into the Boehm GC package in 2008. http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Hans_Boehm/gc/ has a version 3 to 4 years more recent. There are a handful of correctness fixes, some additional implementations (ppc64 features, arm variants, mips, Sun C Studio), and lots of autotools cleanups.

I think it would be a good idea to sync to 7.2alpha4.

Reproducible: Always

I'm now tracking upstream on github to make accessing this modern version easier.

I will be tracking upstream and stay current and close to the Boehm GC version.

Can you revbump the ebuild based on
https://github.com/kev009/libatomic_ops/tarball/gc7_2alpha5_2011-02-12 ?

Any update on this?

considering the boehm-gc tarball is small (like 1MiB), i've updated the ebuild to source it directly from there. it just goes into the subdir and does a normal configure+make+make install.

libatomic_ops-7.2_alpha4 now in the tree
