Description Jesse Adelman 2011-01-13 02:35:25 UTC
Howdy. This version was released on 18th of December, 2010. Changelog post-3.4:

"** Changes in version 3.7 (18 Dec 2010)

* New Features

      Added triage mode, -Z flag, to compute file size and partial
      hashes in addition to full file hash.

      Updated Windows cross-compiler to MinGW-4.2.1

* Bug Fixes

      Fixed hashdeep piecewise mode to include the correct size
      of each piece being hashed. This enables audit mode to
      work correctly.

      Addressed display problem for time estimates of files with
      long filenames in the current directory.

      Added "Input/Output error" to the list of fatal errors when
      processing files

** Changes in version 3.6 (23 Mar 2010)

* New Features

      Added expert mode found in md5deep to hashdeep.

* Bug Fixes

      Fixed error checking in helper routines.

** Changes in version 3.5.1 (30 Dec 2009)

* Bug Fixes

      Fixed processing of zero byte files.

** Changes in version 3.5 (22 Dec 2009)

* New Features

      Added mode to load list of files to process from a file (-f mode)

* Bug Fixes

      Fixed file size computation for piecewise hashing of standard input.

      Fixed error when auditing a directory to check for identical copies
      of a file if one copy is removed."

Thanks.

indeed, someone (who knows how) could attach us an ebuild of the new version *g*

I fount Christian Faulhammer <fauli@gentoo.org> as the last one who was active on http://gentoo-portage.com/app-crypt/md5deep/ChangeLog#ptabs

Hopefully i did not spam anyone, or someone else knows an package maintainer of it?

So far: *pump* for http://sourceforge.net/projects/md5deep/files/md5deep/md5deep-3.7/md5deep-3.7.tar.gz

:-)
Comment 2 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-02-13 12:24:59 UTC
I am not the maintainer, I just did some maintenance work, the maintainer is described in metadata.xml and already the assignee of this bug.
 As the bump was simply a copying of the old ebuild, I did the bump, but please try to avoid ccing people that are not really connected to the package. This is a one-time thing, as you provided the net-misc/arm ebuild for me as proxy maintainer.
Comment 3 gentoouser 2011-02-13 12:57:14 UTC
oh ok, sorry for that: i am able to find out the real maintainer of a package now!
(in case someone also wants to do it: cat /usr/portage/app-crypt/md5deep/metadata.xml)

Never the less he seems to be rather inactive since December/Januar 2011 ;/

You closed the bug: Will a md5deep-3.7.ebuild come next days somewhere *g*? If so: Thanks in advance!

I did not CC you Christian. "gentoouser" did. Check the bug activity.

 Sorry, I checked only people on CC/reporter list...:)
