The latest version (3.4.8) doesn't install any bash-completion files. Please remove the IUSE, and bash/bash-completion dependencies. Other versions too? didn't test.

(Furthermore, if it did install the files, it should inherit bash-completion.eclass and not directly depend on bash/bash-completion)

Thanks.

Awesome uses app-shells/bash-completion for original launcher to complement any commands.
even so, should I remove bash-completion USE flag?

removed bash-completion USE flag.

Matsuu, why awesome now *strictly* depends on bash-completion?
Comment 4 Alex Alexander (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-01-21 20:23:20 UTC
I've removed the bash{,-completion} deps, awesome doesn't need them, although it will use them if present. thanks :)
