Description Rafał Mużyło 2011-01-03 14:18:44 UTC
Now, that after its 1st birthday bug 297576 was fixed,
it's worth noting, that in the meanwhile there were a few releases,
with the latest, 1.2.7, on 03-Dec-2010.

Usually, yes.
But in this case, see bug 285822.

Is that bug still present in samba-3.4.9 or samba-3.5.6 ? If so, please reopen the bug. If you had provided working patches for samba related ebuilds and the bugs are still open, feel free to ping me.

Obviously, that bug can't affect monolithic samba.
My point was that even after I provided patches for a certain maintainer (even talked with him on irc), nothing was done for months, till the bug became invalid due to dropping split samba build. That maintainer was the one that commit the split samba builds into the tree.

I'm not sating split samba was a bad idea, but it was badly implemented.
