(not a regression; I gave my version, but stable 1.1.7 acts the same. at least not a regression from stable. :)) ViewVC has a standalone web server, if you don't want to use CGI (or a web server at all...). This file enables it. although the file lives in the downloaded tarball, it's not copied to the live filesystem as far as I can see. # tar tvf /usr/portage/distfiles/viewvc-1.1.8.tar.gz | grep standal -rwxr-xr-x cmpilato/cmpilato 29637 2010-09-09 21:20 viewvc-1.1.8/bin/standalone.py # emerge viewvc # updatedb # locate standalone.py <no output> #
standalone.py is too generic name. www-apps/viewvc-1.1.9 now installs standalone.py as viewvc-standalone-server.
