I have two to three icons on the system tray most of the time:
- NetworkManager
- Pidgin
- Guake

Lately, sometimes the systray does not show any of them, just the empty border box.  If it does display icons, the icons are shown in reduced size, sometimes scaled down by 2 (on both axis), sometimes just a little bit smaller, but never taking the full area.

When reverting to panel 4.7.4, the systray seems sane again.

Fixed in tree by 4.8.x releases
