hi,

i needed to emerge sys-fs/diskdev_cmds to make gparted able to format hfs+ partition. would it be possible to make it dep when hfs use flag is given?
or create hfsplus flag...

Setting a (runtime) dependency based on a USE flag without the build system actually using that dependency goes against Gentoo ebuild policy, since rebuilding the package because you simply want to have an RDEPEND installed is a waste of time, but I will let maintainers review this, as the ebuilds already seem to do this for other dependencies, including sys-fs/hfsutils.

how i'm supposed to get that diskdev_cmds is needed for hfs then?
