pdftex-1.40.11 has been released with the following bugfixes:

This is a maintenance release with mostly bugfixes.

|   - \pdfgentounicode conflicts with cmap+\pdffontattr [#4291]
|   - \rightmarginkern doesn't work for last lines [#4292]
|   - \pdfximagebbox wrong for PDF files with /Rotate != 0 [#939]
|   - \leftmarginkern & \rightmarginkern doesn't work with box
registers > 255 [#4312]

I had to drop keywords because I changed it to use dev-libs/kpathsea (and thus texlive 2010).

I've tried to compile a bunch of .tex files with the new pdftex but got this error:

[1{//var/lib/texmf/fonts/map/pdftex/updmap/pdftex.map}pdflatex: Invalid argument

re-emerging kpathsea and texlive-core and then pdftex again didn't fix the bug.
