Description Mathieu Rochette 2010-11-21 21:56:31 UTC
as said on [1] and [2], xbmc is moving to git (on github), repository url is git://github.com/xbmc/xbmc.git

the repository is read only for now but it's enough for xbmc-9999.ebuild to begin to use it.

today team xbmc announced to start the final transition to git:

"The final svn commit was r35744. Everyone who builds from source will need to use git from this point on. We’ll do our best to answer any questions in the comments, but let’s avoid a SCM flamewar, ok?"

mathieu,

would you please reopen this bug report?

thank you

except the final git repo still is ready as the post you quoted clearly states:

Look for an update here when the transition is done and the the final repo is ready for use!

re-open when things are actually available to transition

just for the case you didn't see it, yet. there's another report regarding the git transition including an ebuild.

has anybody else tested the ebuild from http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350755 ?

does it work flawlessly and could we use this ebuild as a draft for the tree?
