I'm wondering whether "hostfs" should be added to the list of the file systems ?

when requesting things like this, you really should describe the fs.  ive never heard of "hostfs" before.  assuming my google findings are correct, this is:
  http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/hostfs.html

in which case, adding hostfs to mlocate's default updatedb.conf is fine.  feel free to add it.

I'll do it next time (OTOH at least during the last month that file system produced some rumors at LKML: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20352 )
