It seems the latest stable is now over a year old; having something a little newer would be nice :)  A couple of open bugs exist, but they don't seem to be too active.

this would really be nice since the current stable is broken on hardened systems, as well as the -format s16be option.  both of which i need.

since people keep deleting the older snapshots, let's go with mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20101114 before someone retires that too.

Tested =media-video/mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20101114 on SPARC, sucessfully played a DVD. Stabilise for SPARC, please.

Minor problem. It might take ages to be fixed so we can't really wait for that. amd64 done

Bug(s) 345653 is still there and it makes mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20101114 almost unusable with smplayer. The version mplayer-1.0_rc4_p20100612 was free of this bug.
