After upgrading perl from 5.8.8-r8 to 5.12.2-r2, the default @INC lacks /usr/local/lib/site_perl which was previously configured by perl-5.8.8-reorder-INC.patch. This came as a surprise and broke quite some scripts here as all our local modules are located in that dir. Workaround: echo PERL5LIB="/usr/local/lib/site_perl" >> /etc/env.d/99perl && env-update However, PERL5LIB may also need to be added to /etc/conf.d/env_whitelist e.g. for mod_perl. And to crontab(s) etc. If this is generally considered a regression, it should be fixed. Otherwise, maybe it should have been mentioned in the "Perl 5.12 upgrade procedure" news item.
