net-libs/opal-3.6.7 compiles fine here but got removed from the tree today :(

net-libs/opal-3.6.8 gives

this http://code.google.com/p/ffmpegsource/issues/detail?id=11 could be a possible solution.

Can we have net-libs/opal-3.6.7 back in the tree before this is fixed, please?

Fix the undefined UINT64_C macro error

My guess is that FFMpeg library requires a macro, UINT64_C, which is defined by the STD C library stdint.h only if a certain symbol, __STDC_CONSTANT_MACROS, is defined (which doesn't happen by default).
So FFMpeg defines that symbol before including stdint.h and it works.
But the H26x plugin code in OPAL includes stdint.h before FFMpeg, and without defining that symbol since it does not directly require it. When it's turn for FFMpeg to be included, stdint.h has already been included (without the needed symbols), so it won't be included again. Therefore, no UINT64_C definition.
My solution is to have OPAL always enable the definition of UINT64_C. Since I haven't ever played with Autoconf, the execution of this patch is non-orthodox.
For some reason, the append-flags line in the current e-build is not enough in my case.

I have tested this patch on top of net-libs/opal-3.6.8 on an amd64 Gentoo machine (media-video/ffmpeg-0.6_p25423, sys-libs/glibc-2.11.2-r3). It can be applied just after unpacking.

I just applied the proposed patch in a local overlay and it compiled without any issue. (opal-3.6.8-H26x-ffmpeg.patch)
Comment 7 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-12-07 07:17:38 UTC
Guys. I've backported similar patch from upstream and applied it in 3.6.8-r1. If problem persists, please, reopen.
