Hi, 

nvidia-drivers-173.14.28, which added support for X.Org xserver 1.9., is out for some time. 

Please, update ebuild in portage.

Hi, 

tried myself, renamed to nvidia-drivers-173.14.28.ebuild and changed COMMON to <x11-base/xorg-server-1.9.99

1) nvidia-drivers emerged fine
2) upgrade to xorg-server-1.9.1 also went fine
3) nvidia-drivers-173.14.28 also compiled against kernel-2.6.36, while nvidia-drivers-173.14.27 not
4) rebooted and working

Also nvidia-drivers-96.43.18 doesent compile with gentoo-sources 2.6.36.

Please fix it in one step.

At this time it is not possible to have a working system with a old nvidia card and kernel 2.6.36.

The 96xx driver and the 173xx driver need an update. This update for 173xx is out for weeks. The 96xx will come later...

Please work on this. Its very frustating to use the vesa driver only because the old drivers have to less attention.

/OR/ simply stick with 2.6.34 until the new driver is in...

Why nobody want to update the drivers???

It makes no sense to block the new drivers which are already out because older are working with older kernels??

Who is the maintainer of this Package oder this type of drivers?

It's in the tree. Maybe spock wants to check the CUDA stuff some more - I don't have the hardware to test that. Thanks for reporting and for your patience.

Thanks for updating this ebuild - works great with 2.6.36 and xorg 1.9.2!
