Please stabilize dev-ruby/ruby-glib2-0.19.4. 

This stabilization is actually long overdue. ppc64 only has ruby-glib2 stable so it never got cc'ed on the normal ruby-gnome2 stabilization bugs. It would be great if this could be dealt with ASAP so that we can remove the old and broken version and deprecate its eclass.
