Description Hanno Böck gentoo-dev 2010-10-09 12:27:47 UTC
In combination with kde 4.5.2, kmail (4.4.6) is not able to open URLs any more. What it does when clicking on an url inside a mail is:
It downloads the webpage, saves it to /tmp/ and then opens the html in /tmp - obviously, this doesn't make any sense.

Confirmed here for https: firefox only displays locally stored file
Not confirmed for http, works normally there

I believe this is the Gentoo bug for the upstream bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=253294. Looks like it has a patch for 4.5.2 but fixed in 4.5.3.

Comment 4 Petteri Räty (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-10-21 13:48:59 UTC
happens with konsole and kde-open for me
Comment 5 Theo Chatzimichos (RETIRED) archtester gentoo-dev Security 2010-10-21 15:05:39 UTC
this is fixed in kdelibs-4.5.2, no revbump as it wasn't affecting all users and the package takes too long to compile
Please reopen if it is still present

Let's keep this open until kdelibs is bumped.

Just to confirm : i've just done "emerge -1 kdelibs" and after a restart or X, this indeed fixes the problem. Thanks!
Comment 8 Andreas K. Hüttel archtester gentoo-dev 2010-11-14 14:38:21 UTC
Fixed in 4.5.3
