Works fine for me, including the amd64 keyword with said "patch" in bug 337766. Apparently 2.4.8 has been released but not yet ported to the svn tag tree (30h after release). sigh. On a side note, does anyone know why they refrain from doing proper tarball releases?
bumping to 2.4.9.1. One minor question: Perhaps we should wrap debugsupport, profilingsupport in a USE="debug" flag? They currently default to on. Tests even pass on my amd64 setup \o/

2.5.1 is out and passes the test suite on x86, amd64. I also ran the abi conformance checker [1] which reported no problems (some time we need to collect stats on this to get a proper shared library). Btw – patch for debug is here: bug 341091 (but still fails with 2.5.1) [1] http://ispras.linux-foundation.org/index.php/ABI_compliance_checker
