Have version dev-db/ctdb-1.0.73 installed, and upon running an emerge on net-fs/samba-3.5.4 +cluster returns error during config stating:

checking cluster support... configure: error: "cluster support: ctdb transaction support missing or too old"

Updated to dev-db/ctdb-1.0.114_p1 and re-ran emerge samba. Config dependency error cleared.  Need version dep in ebuild for cluster use flag.

Yeah, the needed struct is in >=dev-db/ctdb-1.0.114_p1
