The problem is that the kernel is compiled and in the propper place.
/usr/src/linux -> /usr/src/ppc-sources-2.4.22-r2
--(newton)-(pts5)-(15:48/19-Nov-03)--
--<~>-- uname -a
Linux newton 2.4.22-ben2 #1 Sun Nov 16 02:16:02 WET 2003 ppc  750FX GNU/Linux
newton linux # head /usr/src/linux/Makefile
VERSION = 2
PATCHLEVEL = 4
SUBLEVEL = 22
EXTRAVERSION = -ben2

Now, the kernel is compiled (i'm using it right now), and I saw this problem quite a lot, with other aplications, normally I just removed the "kernel compiled test" and emerged them, but in this one, i don't seem to find where that is.

allready talked with lu_zero on irc, he said it will try to reproduce this...
but my guess is that your kernel compiled test is broken....

lu_zero, can you remember this discussion? Or what does our "kernel-gurus" say?

should be resolved in latest iproutes (iproute-20010824-r5 at least)
