Description Priit Laes (IRC: plaes) 2010-09-17 09:06:31 UTC
It's possible to build v8 on amd64 platform (and it works, as I built node.js and ran few tests):

Into src_configure() add following line:

[snip]
use amd64 && myconf="${myconf} arch=x64"
[/snip]

Thank you for the suggestion. I've made the change in CVS.

Now starting the process to get dev-lang/v8-2.4.3 keyworded ~amd64. Pritt, it may be useful if you attach your emerge --info (the amd64 team has asked for that).

Just one question : nothing mentioned about plain 64bit systems. Teh above emerge --info does not show the bitflags. Neither there are any dependencies to emul- ebuilds !? So is compiling possible on amd64 with -32bit 64bit setting. If not, this should be reflected in the useflags.
cheers
