LSI site shows MegaCli version 8.0.29.  Gentoo version is 4.0.11.

LSI package is available at the following URL: http://www.lsi.com/lookup/License.aspx?url=/DistributionSystem/User/AssetMgr.aspx?asset=55626&prodName=MegaRAID%20SAS%208888ELP&subType=Miscellaneous&locale=EN

The current MegaCli package still works, even with the latest versions of the MegaRAID firmware.  However, the newer firmware versions contain features that cannot be configured or managed using the older MegaCli.
