Clamav was pulled in as a dependency for a package that I'm testing for stabilization. Clamav has been installed on this system previously (removed it a week ago) and the reinstall complains about a file collision. That's probably due to freshclam updates. The .cvd file didn't match the one being installed with clamav, and Portage refused to remove it.
Fixed in clamav-0.97 in CVS.
