Seems to work fine, please add blockers if there are any.
Why didn't you add x11-drivers/xf86-{input,video}-virtualbox-3.2.8, app-emulation/virtualbox-bin-3.2.8 and app-emulation/virutalbox-guest-additions-3.2.8 to the list? And why were I not CCed?
I've picked first person listed in metadata.xml. As for drivers, I haven't used them so I have no idea whether their state allows them to be here. Same for -bin packages. It's your bug so wrangle it properly, please :)
Upstream recommends to keep host and client parts in sync regarding the versions. We should apply to that even when it might be a totally rare case that someone sets up a Gentoo-VM inside a Gentoo-host via virtualbox. Apart from than that there still is at least one open bug which might block stabilization (bug #333601). Problem is I cannot really dig into that bug because my Gentoo-VM does not even slightly run reliable with any kernel newer than 2.6.32.x...
Please, could you add the little patch to enable the vnc flag (and use) that was posted in comment #1 of bug #322325. I have tried it and it works, then you could close that bug. Thank you.
I rather want to see vbox-3.2.10 becoming stable...
And once again a rise in version... this time due to bug #343403
Arches, please test and mark stable the following packages stable. Host packages: app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-3.2.12 app-emulation/virtualbox-bin-3.2.12-r1 app-emulation/virtualbox-ose-3.2.12-r1 app-emulation/virtualbox-ose-additions-3.2.12 Guest packages: x11-drivers/xf86-input-virtualbox-3.2.12 x11-drivers/xf86-video-virtualbox-3.2.12 app-emulation/virtualbox-guest-additions-3.2.12 As usual if you don't have some Gentoo-VM to test the guest packages, simply send me a public ssh-key via _signed_ mail and I will give you access to either my stable amd64 and/or stable x86 Gentoo-VM I am running at home. Yes, there are still bugs blocking this one but we need to give stable users a version of vbox which can be compield against kernel-2.6.36. I deal with the blockers later.
Works perfectly for gentoo-hosts and gentoo-guests. amd64 done
app-emulation/virtualbox-ose was pkgmoved to app-emulation/virtualbox. app-emulation/virtualbox-ose-additions was pkgmoved to app-emulation/virtualbox-additions. So the list of packages which need stabilization has changed as follows. Host packages: app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-3.2.12 app-emulation/virtualbox-bin-3.2.12-r1 app-emulation/virtualbox-3.2.12-r3 app-emulation/virtualbox-additions-3.2.12 Guest packages: x11-drivers/xf86-input-virtualbox-3.2.12 x11-drivers/xf86-video-virtualbox-3.2.12 app-emulation/virtualbox-guest-additions-3.2.12
app-emulation/virtualbox-3.2.12-r3 was dumped in favour of app-emulation/virtualbox-3.2.12-r4.
Much better than 3.2.8. x86 done, thanks! Closing.
