dev-scheme/guile-1.8.5-r1, as of this writing, is stable on both amd64 and hppa ARCHs, and there's still a STABLEREQ open for other archs (see bug #245701). But it's also buggy (at least alpha and ppc are entirely skipping it as you can read in #245701) and fails with FEATURES=test on at least amd64 and hppa (both keyworded stable!): see bug #333325

guile-1.8.7 is the current stable upstream release since 14 months (also used by other distros, eg Ubuntu since 9.10).
dev-scheme/guile-1.8.7 ebuild is in portage since 2009/12 and doesn't get modified since 2010/05.

Please stable dev-scheme/guile-1.8.7 to get rid of other bugs (both #245701 and #333325 could then be closed) and be in par with upstream.

I'll test 1.8.8 against a stable x86 chroot and if it's ok, I'll cc arches for the 1.8.8.
