revdep-rebuild complains on it

equery b /usr/lib64/libpoppler-glib.so.4
[ Searching for file(s) /usr/lib64/libpoppler-glib.so.4 in *... ]
app-text/poppler-0.14.1 (/usr/lib64/libpoppler-glib.so.4)

ldd /usr/lib64/libpoppler-glib.so.4
	linux-vdso.so.1 =>  (0x00007fff7e5d7000)
	libpoppler.so.4 => not found
...

Rebuild doesn't change this linking issue.

Same here on two different systems.

> Rebuild doesn't change this linking issue.

It did work for me both times, but maybe that's to do with the circumstance that you have a different libdir.
Comment 6 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-08-18 04:15:13 UTC
Stable for HPPA PPC.

  +poppler-0.14.2.ebuild:
  Version bump, do not use preserve_old_lib - as one cannot possibly tell what version we're upgrading from which will cause invalid suggestions to run revdep-rebuild and upstream is bumpimg soversion often. Restore ewarn instead.

I hope this revdep-rebuild issue won't happen again... - so good people please stay away from this ewarn and do *not* introduce preserve-old-lib never again without consulting it with me :P

Unintended double negation.
