starting the mpd init.d script currently dumps garbage to stdout:

 * Starting Music Player Daemon ...
output: No "audio_output" defined in config file
output: Attempt to detect audio output device
output: Attempting to detect a alsa audio device
output: Successfully detected a alsa audio device                                             [ ok ]

that shouldnt be there ... mpd already has a log file, so it should be using that for status type information
