"lib". My libpcre.so is in /usr/lib64, and I have no lib -> lib64 symlink. php supports a --with-libdir option. I'm currently building php with --with-libdir=$(get_libdir) which should fix this, and I'll let you know the results.
Yes, --with-libdir=$(get_libdir) fixes this. It lets me run into the next bug, which I'll report separately :) (That one's a locale problem; I tried LC_ALL=C to verify that this bug can be fixed.)
