Version 0.4 is out, unfortunately nothing in NEWS and I couldn't find any announcement :(
Bumped it locally and works with Huawei E1552 modem. PS. It would be nice if modemmanager RDEPENDS on usb_modeswitch package or at least mentions it in some kind of message.

Although, to be honest, the functionality in usb_modeswitch should go into modemmanager. You should file an upstream bug about it. :)
