Description Priit Laes (IRC: plaes) 2010-07-02 11:51:31 UTC
Version 0.4 is out, unfortunately nothing in NEWS and I couldn't find any announcement :(
Comment 1 Priit Laes (IRC: plaes) 2010-07-02 12:23:37 UTC
Bumped it locally and works with Huawei E1552 modem.

PS. It would be nice if modemmanager RDEPENDS on usb_modeswitch package or at least mentions it in some kind of message.

Closing FIXED, thanks for reporting :-)

As a side-note, there is no way we're going to add an RDEPEND on usb_modeswitch.

(a) It's an orphaned package (maintainer-needed)
(b) It calls a TCL script whenever a device is plugged in (wtf?)
(c) There is no reason to force TCL on the systems of all our users

Is there an alternative package that can be used? Although, to be honest, the functionality in usb_modeswitch should go into modemmanager. You should file an upstream bug about it. :)
