Description Andrew Brouwers 2010-06-27 15:40:31 UTC
2.8.x has seemed mostly harmless on my machines, and been in the tree for a while without many interesting bugs. Newer version as stable would be nice :-)

Reproducible: Always

Arch's, please test & stabilize:

=dev-util/cmake-2.8.1-r2 "alpha amd64 arm hppa ia64 ppc ppc64 s390 sh sparc x86"
Comment 2 Jeremy Murphy 2010-07-01 02:24:55 UTC
Fails tests 34 and 106 on x86, see bug #326387.

Is this also the case with the current stable? If yes, and no other issues arise, we can proceed with stabeling since only regressions block.
Comment 4 Jeremy Murphy 2010-07-01 11:53:50 UTC
OK, so test numbers don't hold between versions. CTest.UpdateCVS fails in both the current stable 2.6.4-r3 and 2.8.1-r2. OutDir is a new test, which fails.
Comment 5 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-04 12:06:47 UTC
ppc64 stable
Comment 6 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-06 21:58:28 UTC

Comment 7 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-09 20:16:09 UTC
Same test failures as Jeremy on x86...please fix.
Comment 8 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-27 02:15:43 UTC

Hi, I'm proposing a solution in bug 315223. Please test.

Why do you download from cmake.org?
Just delete /usr/portage/distfiles/cmake* and let portage get it from the gentoo mirrors.
Comment 13 Markus Meier gentoo-dev 2010-08-11 21:57:33 UTC
arm stable
Comment 14 Serhij S. Stasyuk 2010-08-12 09:19:15 UTC
In reply to ~12:

Please, check ebuild:
SRC_URI="http://www.cmake.org/files/v$(get_version_component_range 1-2)/${MY_P}.tar.gz"

Either I do not have tarball at all or remove it, it will be downloaded from:
1) locally configured mirrors
2) http://www.cmake.org/files/v2.8/cmake-2.8.1.tar.gz

In any case, why in portage mirrors we have file that differs from original?

Most probably because upstream changed the tarball (after it was mirrored by Gentoo) without making a new release.

If you want you can file a separate bug about this issue, however this one is a tracker for stabilization.

Maybe this bug should depends on #322767?
Comment 17 Tobias Klausmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-09-10 13:55:38 UTC
Stable on alpha.
Comment 18 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-09-11 15:15:10 UTC
