Marked ~hppa.

I tried this on ppc32 without libvpx. According to bug #323727, it should use the internal vp8 decoder, but when played with mplayer, it complains that libvpx isn't available and bails. Is this the intended behavior?
Comment 8 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-09-13 05:53:04 UTC
As an update, the patch in the libvpx stabilization bug does make it work with vp8 video, but it's pretty slow and definitely using libvpx.
Comment 9 Reimar Döffinger 2010-09-14 19:07:47 UTC
Native VP8 support was added after 0.6, and performance was improved so much any FFmpeg version older than about 1 month is not a good choice if you care about VP8.
Comment 10 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-09-15 23:14:17 UTC
Okay, sorry, from the way it was described in the libvpx bug I thought that ffmpeg already had support for vp8 in the 0.6 build.

In any case, for ppc, we'll pass on libvpx and wait for a newer ffmpeg snapshot. Marked ~ppc/~ppc64. Closing since we're the last arch.
