Current ebuild some kind of force us to use /etc/conf.d/transmission-daemon to configure daemon. If authorization options specified in /etc/conf.d/transmission-daemon then it will be sent to daemon in command line parameters and any user in system can see password in ps -ef output. So it's good to have option like a "auth=conf" which will tell the script in init.d to run daemon with authorization parameters from settings.json file and it will be more secure. Reproducible: Always
Thank you for report Heorhii. This should be fixed in transmission-2.10. I've highly simplified init script and thus now there exists single TRANSMISSION_OPTIONS variable to pass options to transmission-daemon. This way it'll be much easier to pass whatever configuration you want. Try it and report any new bugs you find :)
