Created attachment 234867 [details] Build log
Changing it to uint32_t and uint64_t breaks a later part of the build: ../sysdeps/generic/stdint.h: Assembler messages: ../sysdeps/generic/stdint.h:37: Error: Unrecognized opcode: `typedef' and so on.
This doesn't just affect glibc, qt-core also fails and I assume others too.
(In reply to comment #3) > This doesn't just affect glibc, qt-core also fails and I assume others too. > Yes several of my userland packages are failing to build because of this. I'm voting this bug up. There seem to have been many many bugs in PPC due to ptraces.
Severity should probably be changed to critical/major, this will cause a new system to not build, albeit a new testing build
It appears __u32 is a typdef found in types.h. There's probably a missing types.h statement somewhere.
Created attachment 235015 [details, diff] patch to satisfy typedefs while not confusing the assembler This should work until something better is committed upstream.
I've marked it -ppc and -ppc64 (it happens there as well) for now. I'm not sure the patch provided here is correct, more likely these interfaces should be hidden from user space. That said, I haven't actually looked at the code yet. :p
should be fixed with 2.6.35
