Is there any reason that pidgin depends on eds lower than 2.30? As eds 2.30 is in the gnome overlay the new evolution will not be installed if pidgin is installed and vice versa. I found no reason for building pidgin only with <2.30.
Hello Jens-Uwe, I've pidgin and bleeding edge gnome, but no eds. Did you test if the "interaction" of eds with pidgin (know idea what that would be, sry) works with th newer eds? (you can change the ebuild, run `ebuild <ebuildfile> manifest` to update the Manifest and install anyway.) I'm sure the maintainer will appreciate some testwork, thanks, Michael
Installed pidgin 2.7.1: Compiles fine, starts, even evolution plugin seems to work. Please lift dependencies to =<eds-2.30
Last I checked, eds 2.30 was moved to use dbus and had a changed API ? Can you confirm that it works now ?
See bug #314089
Thank you for report. I've reviewed plugin code and it looks like it was updated to bonobo-less branch of eds. I've dropped this restriction in pidgin-2.7.1.
